Job Description

    • Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) as per customer and project requirements.

    •  Prepare 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

    • Prepare and modify 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.

    • Develop complete machine layouts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and individual components.

    • Perform mechanical design calculations related to loads, torque, power, speed, and component selection.

    • Select suitable engineering materials and standard components such as bearings, gears, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic components.

    • Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for machine assemblies and projects.

    • Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

    • Prepare detailed fabrication and machining drawings with proper dimensions, tolerances, and technical specifications.

    • Apply knowledge of GD&T, limits, fits, and tolerances in engineering drawings.

    • Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Assembly, Quality, and Project teams during machine development.

    • Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and machine commissioning.

    • Identify design issues and provide effective engineering solutions.

    • Participate in design reviews and incorporate improvements based on feedback.

    • Maintain design documentation and revision control as per company standards.

    • Strong experience in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) Design.

    • Proficiency in SolidWorks – Part Modeling, Assembly, and Drawing.

    • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.

    • Knowledge of mechanical design calculations.

    • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, fits, and surface finish.

    • Knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes.

    • Experience in preparing BOM and engineering documentation.

    • Understanding of machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.

    • Ability to troubleshoot design and assembly-related technical issues.
