Course Description
Mastercam is a computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software program used by manufacturing professionals, such as machinists and computer numerical control (CNC) programmers. This software helps users produce mechanical drawings of machine parts, learn how to operate CNC lathes and mills and create 3-dimensional wireframe models. There are two options for professional Learning Milling and Lathe. This course is a full-length MasterCAM 2018 and 2019 learning package that contains almost all of the topics that you will ever need to work with this software. The course is designed for the beginner as well as seasoned users. A beginner can start learning the software right from scratch by following the course along just from lecture one. A seasoned MasterCAM user will also find this course very comprehensive and they can choose the topics they want to learn about skipping the basics.

Course objectives
Mastercam is software that provides both CAD and CAM functionality to drive CNC machines efficiently for optimized productivity. Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) is the use of software and computer-controlled machinery to automate a manufacturing process. Based on that definition, you need three components for a CAM system to function: Software that tells a machine how to make a product by generating toolpaths.

Mastercam is a Windows-based manufacturing CAD/CAM solution for 2 through 5-axis milling/routing, turning, mill-turn, 2 & 4 axis wire EDM, 2D and 3D design, and surface and solid modeling. It serves aerospace, automotive, energy, medical, die/mold, composites, and consumer products industries. CAM software is used to develop programs for a variety of CNC machines such as milling and turning machines, for example, or machines for cutting-edge machining or additive manufacturing.
